Trooper William Brooks was shot and killed while attempting to arrest three federal fugitives. He had handcuffed two of the suspects but was knocked down and shot with his own service weapon.
The suspect was sentenced to life in prison.
Trooper Brooks had served with the agency for 4 years. He was survived by his wife.
