GRAVETTE — Joe S. Jenkins of Gravette died July 21, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 24, 1927, to Ed and Delores Cramer Jenkins. He lived most of his life in Arkansas, California and Nevada. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Jenkins Roofing Service in Hiwasse for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 268 in Hiwasse and belonged to the Cherokee Gourd Society in Tahlequah, Okla.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Mattson and wife Deborah of Bentonville, Richard Puryear and wife Markeeta of Gravette and Scott Puryear and wife Janet of Gentry; two daughters, Linda K. Wensel of Huachuca City, Ariz., Shari Jo Free and husband David of Bentonville; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.
