Sheba *GREETER DOG

Saint Boniface Cemetery
Perry County,
Arkansas

May 23, 2005 - Also see Photo

Our past Father James P. West found her on the side of the road, brought her home with him to the rectory. She grew to be a beautiful dog, and became our church greeter. Before Mass we ring the bells and she would howl along with them. Father West was relocated to Hot Springs some time later, since that rectory had no fenced in yard, sadly Sheba was left here. Father Richard Davis then took her under his wing. She was killed by a car trying to cross the highway in front of church. She is buried by the front steps of St. Boniface. A parishioner, Willie Rempe engraved the marker for her, and his daughter Mary Ann always keeps flowers for her.
