Solomon N. Jones, 90, a resident of Gassville passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Mountain Home.

He was born September 15, 1921, in Buffalo City to the late William and Della Fugate Jones. Solomon married Trilba Jones on June 4, 1952, in Mountain Home. Solomon served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for B and L Construction as an equipment engineer for over 25 years; during that time he worked on the construction of both the Bull Shoals and Norfork Dams. Solomon then worked for the railroad for a few years and then as a small engine mechanic. Solomon loved to hunt and fish, especially catfish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Trilba Jones; a son, Raymond Jones; a step-son, Lotus Franks; a step-daughter, Louise (Cranfill) Frost; a brother, Bill Jones and two grandchildren, Robert Lee Cranfill and Melissa Leighty.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Verna Jones of Gassville and Vernon and Linda Jones of Mountain Home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda May and James Davis of Huntland, Tennessee and Della and Wilbur Phillips of Jacksonville, Florida; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Jim Franks of Gassville and Lunnie and Joyce Franks of Whiteville; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Pauline and Jay Hollingsworth; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Jones of Lakeview and Charlotte Franks of Midway; a brother, Roy Jones of Hoisington, Kansas; 26 grandchildren, Allen, Kathy, Debbie, Louie, Darrell, Doyle, Missy, Daniel, Molly, Leonard, Lisa, Anna, Angela, Darrell, Lotus Lee, Stacey, Victoria, Tracey, Amanda, Nathaniel Timothy, John Wesley, Leonard Lee, Randy, Raymond Gene and Sheri; 53 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Curtis-Acklin Cemetery near Norfork with the Rev. Gene Carson officiating. Burial will be immediately following under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Hollingsworth, Darrell Franks, Lotus Lee Franks, Raymond Gene Jones, Allen Franks and Randy Jones.
