PEEL, Annie Alberta - {from Mountain View} It is with regret that we learn of the death of Miss Annie Peel last week at Fort Collins, Colorado. In writing to her sister, Mrs. R.J. Allen of Avoca a few days previous to her death, she said she had just escaped an attack of pneumonia fever. She also said she would be home soon. To their great surprise and grief a telegram was received a few days later announcing her death. She had lung trouble but her condition had not been considered serious. The body will be sent to Avoca and the interment will be in the Anderson cemetery near Osage Mills. The deceased was a sister of Hunter Peel and Mrs. R.J. Allen of Avoca and had made her home with the latter. The family is prostrated with grief and we offer our sympathy in this hour of bereavement.

Miss Annie Alberta Peel, the subject of this brief sketch, died at the home of friends in Fort Collins, Colorado on Friday morning, March 2, 1906 in the twenty-sixth year of her age. The deceased was born at Brightwater, Benton County, Ark. Sept. 25, 1879. She was the youngest daughter of Albert Peel, who died some years ago, being well known throughout the county. Miss Peel was a child of the covenant and made a public profession of religion while in attendance at Cottey College in Missouri where she received her literary education. She was kind, thoughtful and sympathetic. Especially did she expend the most tender and untiring care upon her sister, Mrs. Bressler, throughout her long and fatal sickness some three years ago. She was very delicate, physically, and last August went to Colorado on account of her health. At first she seemed to improve but began to decline about Christmas. Her last sickness was brief and her death unexpected -no one suspecting any immediate danger. About four o'clock in the morning she called Mr. and Mrs. McGibbon, who were sitting up with her, but she was unable to speak again and immediately passed away. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. O.I. Anderson by Rev. J.E. Wylie, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Bentonville after which her body was laid to rest in the Anderson graveyard, the family burying grounds of five generations. J.E.W.
