BRESSLER, May Kate PEEL - May Kate Peel Bressler was born Aug. 25, 1874 at Brightwater. She was baptized in infancy during a meeting held at Brightwater by Bro. Boggs, pastor of the Bentonville Presbyterian Church. Educated at the Pea Ridge Academy and married to H.E. Bressler Oct. 12, 1893. During the last five years she has been a constant sufferer but has borne her suffering with a patience that could be excelled by no one. It was hers to watch, from the sick bed, the wearing away of toilsome days, without being able to enjoy nature as do those who are permitted to live in the very heart of that grand school. From her room Mrs. Bressler watched the rising of the sun and the setting of the same but that room was bright with a cheerfulness that few persons here on earth have the good fortune to possess. Mrs. Bressler united with the Presbyterian Church of Bentonville only last Nov. but since that time, as her pastor, I have known her as an earnest, devoted follower of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Not content with being in the kingdom without her children she had them baptized at her reception into the church. She died Monday at 11:30 but before she passed away expressed her willingness to go.
