DINSMORE, Alexander Winchester - Hon. Alexander Winchester Dinsmore died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.P. Watson, Saturday afternoon at 4:40 o'clock this afternoon after an illness of two or three weeks with pneumonia at the age of 74 years. Mr. Dinsmore was one of the oldest settlers in this town, having lived here about 45 years, and has always been a leading and influential citizen of not only this county but also of the state. He had always been a zealous Christian and led a most pious life. He was the father of Hugh A. Dinsmore, congressman from this district, who was at the bedside of his father at the time ofhis death, as was also Att'y. James H. Dinsmore of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Mrs. Annie Davis and Mrs. E.P. Watson, all the surviving children and a number of friends and relatives. Truly a good man has gone from among us.

Died, at the residence of his son-in-law, E.P. Watson, Bentonville, Ark. Feb. 17th, 1894, Alexander Winchester Dinsmore, aged 74 years. Mr. Dinsmore was born in Washington county, Penn. in 1820 of Scotch parentage and inherited many of the noblest traits which characterize that nationality. He was graduated from Washington College at the age of 18. He taught for about 11 years in West Va. and Kentucky but in April 1847 he came to Arkansas and married Miss Katherine Anderson, daughter of Col. Hugh Anderson, whose home was the place now owned by his son, O.I. Anderson. It is due to all parties concerned to state that Mr. Dinsmore was not buried with Masonic honors because of his own wish and request in the case. D.C. Boggs, Pastor.
