Union Soldier of the Civil War. Enlisted September 5, 1861 New York City, age 26. Disability Discharge May 9, 1862. Co B 1st Engineers Regiment-NY, called "Serrell's Engineers".
*After the graves were robbed back in the 60’s, new headstones were ordered. The misspelled Reinold by adding a H in his name. John Lewis’ son was upset but they wouldn’t replace it.
Also he wasn’t born in New York. He came from Germany while the Civil War was going on & looking for a job, they signed him up in the Union Army.
He settled in this area & had 7 sons.
