WILLIAMS, Nannie E. DICKSON Oakley - (from The Rogers Democrat] Mrs. Nan Williams, wife of John W. Williams, died Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at her home at Lowell at the age of 58 years. Mrs. Williams had been very low for several weeks and her death was no surprise to the friends and relatives who had been at her bedside during that time. An operation to remove a cancer from her breast was performed last fall and she never seemed to have recovered from the shock, which caused a number of complications. She was a large woman and the confinement and pain caused her much suffering the past few months. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Peter Carnahan. Interment was in the Rogers cemetery. The deceased was born and raised in Benton county, being a daughter of Ceph Dickson, one of the early settlers. She was married twice, her first husband being John Oakley, brother of H.A. Oakley. She leaves two sons by her first marriage, Perry and Albert Oakley, both of whom live near Rogers. In 1883 she was married to J.W. Williams of Lowell and they have one daughter, Nina. Dr. E.H. Williams of South McAlester, Will Williams of Michigan, Mrs. J.W. Walker and Miss Lucy Williams of Rogers and Mrs. J.W. Martin of Lowell are step-children. Mrs. Williams was a most excellent and lovable Christian woman and by her death the family and community have suffered a deep loss. The loss falls most heavily upon the bereaved husband and the motherless daughter and we unite with the many friends in extending our heartfelt sympathy.

Died, at her home in Lowell, Ark. April 19, 1909, Nannie E. Williams, in the 59th year of her age. Deceased was the daughter of E.Z. and Sophia Dickson, of precious memory. She professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ early in life and united with the Presbyterian Church. She was first married to John Oakley. To them were born two sons, Albert and Perry, both of whom are honored and respected citizens. Both were present at the funeral services of their beloved mother. Years after the death of Brother Oakley she was married to J.W. Williams. To this union was born a daughter, Nina, just now blooming into womanhood. Sister Williams, up to the time of her hopeless affliction, was active in religious duties and Christian work. Afflicted with incurable disease, she lay helpless and hopeless so far as this life is concerned, suffering intensely, while unrelenting disease was slowly eating away the vitals of life. At the funeral services many of the kindred, friends and neighbors were present through Christian sympathy, to weep with those that wept. The remains were laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery of the city of Rogers, there to await the summons of Him, "who is the resurrection and the life." May the supporting grace and comforting spirit of the blessed Christ rest upon the disconsolate and sorrowing friends. P. Carnahan.
