Paul Laverne Perkins, 89, of Smithville, AR., died Monday morning, July 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born August 2, 1922, in Smithville, AR., to Noah Webster and Beatrice Deyling Perkins.

He married Bonnie Baker December 6, 1952 in Imboden.

He attended the Smithville Methodist Church and served as an Air Force airplane mechanic in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl D. Perkins.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; son, Jim Perkins of Smithville; daughters, Jo Perkins of Smithville and Myra Bradford of Mountain Home; grandsons, Blake Perkins of West Virginia, Jeffery Jines of Mountain Home; grand-daughter, Paula Perkins of Smithville, Magen Bates of Brookland; great-grand-children, Owen, Maddox, and Kobe.

Funeral services were by Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge. Burial was in Townsend Cemetery in Smithville.

Bonnie Faye Perkins, 90, passed from this life on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born August 19, 1930 in Smithville to Steele and Hazel Rudy Baker.

She married Paul Laverne Perkins on December 6, 1952 in Imboden.

Bonnie was a homemaker, and worked many years at Citizen’s Bank in Smithville. Bonnie was a life-long member of Smithville United Methodist Church. She was a long-time member of the Lawrence County Extension Homemaker’s Club and served many years as a 4-H youth leader.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Laverne Perkins.

She is survived by her son, Jim Perkins of Smithville; daughters, Jo Perkins of Smithville, and Myra Bradford (Randy) of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Blake Perkins (Jodie), Magen Bates (Daniel), Paula Perkins, and Jeffery Jines; great-grandchildren, Maddox and Rylan Perkins, Kobe and Emery Bates, Owen Wheeler, Paityn and Tinsley Durham, and Adalynd Jines.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at Smithville United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow immediately at 11:30. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery in Smithville under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeffery Jines, Blake Perkins, Rylan Perkins, Maddox Perkins, Owen Wheeler, Daniel Bates, and Kobe Bates.

Family is requesting social distancing and mask guidelines be followed.
