MRS. E. H. BREEDLOVE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. Beulah Bedgood Breedlove, aged 57, wife of E.H. Breedlove, died at the Breedlove home east of Bentonville at 11:55 o’clock Wednesday night, Jan. 15th, following an invalidism of five years. Her condition had been critical during the past few days.

Funeral services will be held here at 2:30 o’clock, Friday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, by the Rev. R.S. Haydon of Forrest City, Ark., a former pastor of the Bentonville church. Interment will be in the Bentonville cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Callison-McKinney Funeral Services of Bentonville.

Mrs. Breedlove was a daughter of J.B. and Ella Thompson Bedgood and was born at Marlin, Texas, Oct. 13th, 1878. She and Mr. Breedlove and their children came to Arkansas from Wichita Falls, Texas, in June 1920, and had since lived at their farm and orchards a mile east of Bentonville.

Beside her husband, Mrs. Breedlove is survived by two sons, Earl H. Breedlove of Longview, Texas, and Edward T. Breedlove of Alice, Texas, and by three daughters, Mrs. Emory F.H. Roberts of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. William Vaughn Jones, Bentonville, and Mrs. Jack J. Kitchen, Little Rock. Other relatives include four grandchildren, Joycelyn and Stanley Jones, Tom Ed Breedlove and Janet Kitchen.

Among relatives coming here for the funeral will be Dr. W. P. Whaley, pastor of the M.E. Church, South, of Van Buren, who is a cousin of Mr. Breedlove.

Mrs. Breedlove was born Oct. 13th, 1878, at Marlin, Texas, and was a daughter of J.B. Bedgood and Ella Thompson Bedgood, member of well known pioneer families.

She and Mr. Breedlove and their children came to Northwest Arkansas from Wichita Falls, Texas, in June, 1920, having since lived at their home at the Breedlove farm and orchards a mile and a half east of Bentonville. Since coming here they have been prominent in the affairs of Bentonville and Benton County.

Mrs. Breedlove had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, since early girlhood, and was faithful and activ3e in church work, particularly in the Woman’s Missionary Society, until she became an invalid more than six years ago, since which time she has been constantly confined to her home by illness. Before her marriage she taught in the schools of Fall County, Texas.

Beside her husband Mrs. Breedlove is survived by two sons and three daughters. They are Earl H. Breedlove of Longview, Texas; Edward T. Breedlove of Alice, Texas; Mrs. Emory F.H. Roberts of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. William Vaughn Jones of Bentonville and Mrs. Jack J. Kitchen of Little Rock. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Jocelyn an Stanley Jones, Bentonville, Tom Ed Breedlove, Alice, Texas; and Janet Kitchen, Little Rock. Other surviving relatives include on brother, J. M. Bedgood, Muskogee, Okla., and three sisters, Mrs. Dr. F.L. Davis, Waxahachie, Texas, Mrs. J.D. Jefcoat of Vera, Texas, and Mrs. Wilham McDonald of Needles, Calif. All the children were here for the funeral, as were the brother and sisters with the exception of Mrs. McDonald, who could not reach here in time on account of the distance to her California home.

FUNERAL RITES HELD FRIDAY FOR MRS. E.H. BREEDLOVE

Funeral service for Mrs. Beulah Bedgood Breedlove aged 57, wife of Ed H. Breedlove, widely known Benton County orchardist and vice-president of the Benton County Federal Farm Loan Association, who died at her home just east of Bentonville at 11:55 o’clock Wednesday night, Jan. 15th, 1936, were held at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Bentonville Methodist Episcopal Church, South, conducted by the Rev. R.S. Hayden, a former pastor for several years of the local church and now pastor of the M.E. church, at Forrest City, Ark. He was assisted by the Bentonville pastor, the Rev. J. Abner Sage, Jr.

Music was by the church choir with a duet, “The Old Rugged Cross,” sung by the Rev. Sage and Mrs. Sage, Mrs. Olin Moody was pipe-organ accompanist.

Interment was in the Bentonville cemetery and the pallbearers were W. T. Ivy, John Floyd, Dave Peel, R.O. Cook, Alvin Seamster, and E.H. Alfrey. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Callison-McKinney Funeral Service of Bentonville.
