Jerry C. Strassle age 68 of Bigelow passed away November 16, 2009. Born November 3, 1941 in Bigelow, he was the son of the late John Joseph Strassle, Sr. and Lula Mae Talley. Jerry will be missed by family and friends including Perry County Day Service Center and Nursing Center. He attended Perry County Day School for over 30 years.
Survivors include his sister Louise Roberts of Powder Springs, GA; brother Donald Strassle of Bigelow; brother John Strassle, Jr., of Houston; sister Johnnie Mae Harlan and her husband Donnie of Houston; sister Barbara Scott and her husband Melvin of Jesseville; sister Venia Wellinghoff and her husband Herman of Houston; sister Helen Fetters and her husband Bill of Kansas City, MO; 18 nephews; 9 nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother John Walter Strassle and a sister, Emily Spears.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Thessing officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery near Bigelow by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Gene Freeman, Jerry L. Strassle, Paul Wellinghoff, D. J. Scott, Wade Scott and Tim Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Freeman and Gary Wellinghoff.
