LINCOLN — James L. "Red" Sturdy, 88, a resident of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born March 25, 1928, in Zearing, Iowa, the son of James Elbert and Martha Ann (Nichols) Sturdy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Geraldine "Jerry" Sturdy and second wife Mary Louise Sturdy; one grandson Anthony Ray Carlton; two brothers, Charles and Robert Sturdy.
Survivors include one son, Brit Sturdy and wife Debbie of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, LaRita Carlton and husband Richard of Vian, Okla., Joni Sparks and husband Tom of Evansville, Ark., and Jamie Reed and husband Paul Don of Morrow, Ark.; one brother, Bill Sturdy and wife Quinta of Coalgate, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Matt Seplak, Spencer Seplak, Dana Utley, Bart Michael Sturdy, Sonia Taylor, Justin Sparks, Carrie Reed, Donald Reed, and Terri Hayes; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial will be in the Summers Cemetery No graveside services will be held at the cemetery.
