Willie James Hightower, 88, of Greenbrier died June 25, 2011. Willie was born June 15, 1923 in Greenbrier, to Jessie Lee Hightower and Myrtle Mills Hightower. He worked for Nabholz Construction as a job superintendent for 40 years and a cattle farmer. Willie was a member of Needs Creek Baptist Church.
Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Estelle Hightower; daughter Shirley Hjelden, and father and mother; brothers Shelby Hightower and Kenneth Hightower; and sister Francis McCarty.
He is survived by his children Larry and Linda Hightower of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Sandra Cates and Bill of Conway, Arkansas brother Billy Ray Hightower of Conway, Arkansas, and 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Elrod, Mike Elrod Jr., Jacob Reynolds, Jimmy Weldon, Melvin Hightower and Daniel Hightower and honorary pallbearer Rick Reynolds.
