{from The Gravette News} "In the midst of life we are in death." Sunday morning seemed to be the most beautiful day we have had this fall and all the world seemed happy and when least expected the grim reaper entered our midst and plucked from among us one of our fairest flowers. Mrs. Tallie Sparks, in the bloom of youth, departed this life Sunday morning about 11:30, November 26th, 1905. Two hours before her death she gave birth to a son. All that loving hands and medical skill could do was of no avail, the message must be delivered. Miss Tallie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Foster, was married to Mr. James Sparks, December 23rd, 1903. Two children were born to bless the home but alas, the mother has gone. The deceased was born September 23, 1885 and lived in Gravette all her life. She was the only child and the pride of the family. She attended college at Pea Ridge and Rogers and was an accomplished musician and held in high esteem by all who knew her. The future was bright with anticipation of home and loved ones. The funeral occurred Tuesday and services were conducted in the C.P. church by Rev. Peter Carnahan of Bentonville and Rev. Dunham of this place. After services at the church the remains were taken in charge by the Order of Eastern Star and conveyed to the I.O.O.F. cemetery where they were tenderly laid to rest by loving hands under the ritualistic rites of the order of which the deceased was a member.
