Carl Donald Christensen, 80, Gentry, died March 13 in Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1896 at Council Bluffs, Iowa, he was the son of C.J. and Anna Marie Albertson Christensen, a Seventh-Day Adventist in Gentry where he was a minister for more than nine years. He was a veteran of World War I, earned a B.A. degree at Hutchinson Seminary, Hutchinson. Minn., and received his M.A. degree at the University of Nebraska. He served for 38 years as a missionary in Central
America prior to a post as professor of theology at Walla Walla College in Washington. At the time of his death he was active in the development of the Gentry Park and was a member of AARP.

Survivors indude one son, Elder Charles L. Christensen, Puerto Rico: two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Fryling, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Mrs. Marilyn Hellman, Boring, Ore.; three brothers, Chris Christensen, Gentry, Irvin Christensen, Norquay, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Harold Christensen, Farmington, N.M.; four sisters, Mrs. Christine Adams, Gentry, Mrs. Mildred Berry, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Hazel Baldwin, Sequim, Wash., and Mrs. Beulah Bakke, Melton-Freewater, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. in Gentry Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Dr. Elmer Malcom and Frank Ashby officiating. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs. Memorials may be made to the Quiet Hour radio progam.

MRS. A. CHRISTENSEN

Mrs. Alice N. Christensen, 71, Rt. 2, Gentry, died Feb. 4 in Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1905, in Coleman, S.D., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Slatten and was a Seventh-day Adventist. She had been a resident of Northwest Arkansas for eight years, retiring here after serving as a missionary to Latin and South America. She was a member of the Out Our Way EHC and the AARP in Gentry.

Survivors include her husband, Elder Carl D. Christensen of the home; one son, Elder Charles L. Christensen, Puerto Rico; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Fryling, Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Mrs. Marilyn Hellman, Boring, Ore.; two brothers, John Slatten and Russell Slatten, San Antonio, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Giedd, St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Gladys Prior, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Mrs. Grace Pringle, Denver, Colo.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
