Virgil Tacker

Virgil Ray Tacker, 81, of Garfield, died Friday, May 7, at Rogers Nursing Center.

He was born July 6, 1911, at Rogers, to Jim Tacker and Leda Henry Tacker. He spent his life in this area where, he was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Garfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Hayes Tacker, in 1988.

Survivors are two sons, Jack Tacker of Rogers and Larry Tacker of Pineville; two brothers, James Tacker of Jay, Okla., and Raymond Tacker of Garfield; three sisters, Ruth Morrison and Dorothy Stevenson, both of Eugene, Ore., and Esther Lumbard of Monett, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 10 a,m. Monday at Reddick Chapel with the Rev. Roy McGaughy officiating. Burial is to be in Ruddick Cemetery under direction of Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge. Visitation is set for 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
