TAYLOR, Floy - {from the Garfield correspondent} The entire community was shocked when the message came Sunday that Floy Taylor had been killed at Webb City, Mo. He was a trusted employee of the Atlas Powder Co. at that place, having been employed at that plant at different times for the past two years. He was pushing an electric run loading car, which had been installed for only a short while and in some unknown way the car was short circuited and he was electrocuted. A pulmotor was used but to no avail. The body was brought to Garfield to the home of his parents Wednesday and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.D. Bowles, pastor of the Christian church at Rogers, and burial took place at the Ruddick cemetery. J.W. Bryant's hearse from Rogers carried the body to the cemetery. So well respected and beloved was he that the employees and the company paid all the funeral expenses. Floy, affectionately called "Pete" by his friends, grew to young manhood in our midst, without an enemy in the world and he numbered his friends by his acquaintances. We extend our sympathy to the parents and young sisters, who have lost an only son and brother.
