August 30, 1915 - December 15, 2004
Andrew Wheat of Clinton (MS), 89, departed this life Dec. 15 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland (MS). Graveside services were Dec. 18 in Dermott Memorial Gardens in Dermott, Ark.
Mr. Wheat was a longtime resident of Stuttgart, Ark.,and moved to Clinton several years ago. He was born in Snyder, Ark., and spent his childhood in Dermott, Ark. He moved to Stuttgart in 1950 and married Lois Mae Brain, whom he shared a life for over 50 years.
Mr. Wheat attended Arkansas A&M at Monticello, Ark. He worked as parts manager of McAllister Ford Motor Co. until his retirement.
He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Stuttgart. He was very active in the Lions Club and was a past Worshipful Master of Euclid Lodge No. 130. He also served as secretary of the lodge for over 30 years.
He was well liked and respected by all who knew him. His wife, a sister and a son preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, David B. Wheat and four grandchildren.
