Mrs Vines Dies After Long Illness

Mrs Annie Effie Vines life-long resident of this section died at her home near Gorby, Tuesday August 28th, following several months illness. She was 39 years of age.

Mrs Vines was a daughter of George William Speak and the late Mrs. Speak. She was born at Gorby and the greater part of her life was spent in that locality. She was united in marriage to Thurman Vines October 27, 1933 to which union five children were born. She united the Baptist Church early in life and lived a devout Christian until death.

She is survived by her husband; five children, Lois, Elmo, Earlene, Winston and Truman of the home; her father, G. W. Speak; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Conrad of Gorby and Mrs. Nancy Simpson of Kennewick, Wash.; three brothers, Frank Speak of Kansas City, Mo., Johnny of Moxee City, Wash., and Marvin of Calico Rock.

Funeral services were held at Palestine Church Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, with Rev. Stanley Cooper officiating. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery, with the Hall Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
