Argie Marie Johnson

SPRINGDALE — Argie Marie Johnson, 82 of Springdale died Aug. 18, 2006, at her home. She was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Newton County to Jack and Nettie Hibbard Bohannon. She was a Baptist, and enjoyed music, flea markets, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Johnson, and two daughters, Peggy and Betty.

Survivors include six children, Velma McGarrah and husband Lawrence of Hindsville, Alice Smith and husband Bobby of Fayetteville, Donnie Maddan and wife Ardith of Springdale, Thomas Johnson of Springdale, Aline Gutierrez and husband Joe of Amarillo, Texas, Theila Bolin of Springdale: two sisters, Artie Spears of Springdale, Dorothy Shawhart of Amarillo; one brother, Roy Bohannon of Amarillo: 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is at 3 p.m. Monday at Forest Park Cemetery in Springdale with Nina Bowlin officiating.

Pallbearers will be Shawn McGarrah, Mark McGarrah, Eddie Bohannon, Eddie Hancock, Garland Smith and Brannon Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Birchie Hodge and Josh Meyer.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, with the family present.
