SPRINGDALE — Ray Lee Stroud, 72, of Springdale died Jan 22, 2005, in Springdale. He was born in Martha, Texas to John Melvin and Gertrude Combs Stroud. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and worked as a supervisor in Quality Control for Tyson Foods, retiring after 37 years. He was District Commissioner for Babe Ruth Little League for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lee Straight Stroud, to whom he was married Dec. 16, 1956; one daughter, Cathy Laswell of Plano, Texas; two sons, David Stroud of Springdale and Paul Stroud and wife Vickey of Rogers; two sisters, Margie Allen of Springdale and Melva Byrum of Greenland.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Don Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Neel, Oddy Straight, Kasey Todd, Kenneth Todd, Elmer Byrum and Dave Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Woodard, David Thornton and Randy Paratte.
