Robert "Bob" Chastain, 56 of Van Buren died Thursday, March 27, 2007 in his home. He was a retired set-up operator for Rheem Manufacturing, a shop steward for the Steel Workers Union at Rheem and a member of East Gate Fellowship in Van Buren.

Funeral was March 29, 2007 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Miranda Palmer of Bloomer; a son, Jeff Chastain of Dayton; two stepdaughters, Barbara Stearns of Tampa, Fla., and Lynn Yeretzian of Las Vegas; a stepson, Arthur Workman of Van Buren; a sister, Helen Vincent of Donna, Texas; four brothers, Paul Chastain of Fort Smith, Joe Chastain of Greenwood, Jim Chastain of Van Buren and Ronnie Chastain of Roland; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jay Flanagan, Earl Craft, Mark Ferguson, Cliff Turner, Dan Carney and Mike Ridenhour.
