Birth: Centerville, Hickman County, Tennessee
Death: Limestone, Newton County, Arkansas
In 1863 John William Clayborn joined the Union army along with his brother James N. Clayborn. They both served as scouts for the army in Newton County. John WIlliam became disabled with arthritis and drew a pention till his death in 1907. After his death his wife Martha Jane Hyatt, Clayborn continued to draw his pention till her death on Nov. 27th 1926
