Winnie ROBERTSON LEAMAN

McGhee Cemetery
Perry County,
Arkansas

Feb 28, 1910 - Oct 4, 2008

Winnie Mae Robertson Leaman, 98 yr., 8 months of Mountain View died Saturday morning October 4, 2008 at Stone County Medical Center. God reached down and gently closed her eyes and took her by the hand and carried Winnie home to a much better place, where she is free from pain. God knew what a special person Ms. Winnie was as he gently held her hand and carried her home to a much better place.

She was born in ‘Homewood Community’ near Casa, AR on February 28, 1910 in Perry County to the late Robert E. and Bertha Fowler Robertson.

She was the oldest of 10 children. She was of Baptist by faith and worked with her late husband Ted Leaman who preceded her in death. Winnie’s late husband Ted Leaman who served his county with “Pride and Dignity in the U.S. Marine Corp.”

Winnie moved to Mountain View from Gould, AR in May 1995. She truly enjoyed living and meeting so many nice and caring people during the past 13 years. Winnie loved going to Cash’s White River Hoedown when Dusty Rhodes was playing.

Tom and I enjoyed and were amazed how Winnie still remembered all the different states that she and her husband had been to.

Winnie truly enjoyed working with her husband Ted Leaman and the caring life they had together. Ted and Winnie never had any children, but Winnie always loved being with her nieces and nephews. In fact, our grandson Caleb dearly loved Ms. Winnie and was looking forward to spending sometime with her during the Christmas Holidays.

She leaves behind two sisters, Ruie Holderfield of Aurora, IL and Louise Worthington and a brother Thomas D. ‘Tom” Robertson and wife Norma all from Mountain View.

Winnie was overprotected of her ‘little brother’, Tom. I’ve never seen a brother or sister that loved one another as much as they did. It’s truly been a blessing the past twenty-seven years knowing and being able to care for Winnie when called upon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Berth Fowler Robertson and Robert E. Robertson; four brothers, Theo, Theodore, Sidney and Charles Robertson; two sisters, Gertie Drye and Wanez Harris and one niece and four nephews.

Visitation with family will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Roller Crouch Chapel.

The Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Roller Crouch Chapel with Phillip Nelson officiating and closing the service with a song.
