Funeral Services for Andrew Manning Held

Funeral services for Andrew Manning, aged 90, who died Saturday at the home of a daughter, near Newport, were held at the Haw Mountain Cemetery, three miles west of here, Sunday, services being conducted by Rev G. W. Speak.

Mr. Manning was born and reared in the vicinity of Gorby, where he resided until a few months ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Katie Bonner.

[Note: The gravestone inscriptions show a birth date of 1859. The obituary indicated that he was 90 years old at the time of his death which would indicate a birth date of around 1850. In the 1900 census, he was shown as being born in October 1855. In the 1910 census, he was shown as being born in 1863. In the 1920, he was shown as being born in 1864.]
