Leonard Burgess
Died Suddenly Monday
Leonard Burgess, 54, of Route 4, Huntsville, Marble community, a school bus driver for the Huntsville school system, was found dead in a school bus here shortly after 1 p.m. Monday. Mr. Burgess was reported to have complained of feeling ill at home early Monday morning, but made his usual run from Marble to Huntsville with the school bus then came downtown from high school hill.
Townspeople reported seeing Mr. Burgess on the courthouse lawn around 11 a.m., when he apparently went to a school bus parked at the back of the courthouse and climbed in to rest. His body was found when another driver came to move the bus.
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, were incomplete at press time, pending the arrival of relatives.
