Mr. Donald Irish, 76, of Montrose died Saturday, September 25, 1999, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Waukegan, IL, and a former resident of Zion, IL, he had lived in Montrose for the past 37 years. He was a retired farmer, an U. S. Navy veteran of the Pacific Campaign in World War II, and a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jane Preston Irish, and a brother, Robert Irish. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Bradney Irish of Montrose; two sons, Harbey Irish of Moscow Mills, MO, and David Irish of Warden, WA; four daughters, Donna Price of Pangburn, Sallie Lesperance of Trion, GA, Frances Bauer of Woodbridge, VA, and Carol Woodruff of Wynne; a brother, Richard Irish of Iron Mountain, MI; a sister, Margaret Elsburg of Arksdale, WI; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, in the Montrose United Methodist Church with Revs. Keith Goza and Larry Donaldson officiating. Pallbearers are to be Roy Vaden, Douglas Crane, Bill Mixon, Sharlotte Mixon, Neil Sloan, John Hulsey, David Allen Irish and Shane Slaughter. Burial will follow services at the Dermott Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Montrose United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Elizabeth Irish, P. O. Box 195, Montrose, AR 71658.
