Byron A. Boyd Sr.

LANCASTER Calif. — Byron Andrew 'Barney" Boyd Sr., 82, of Lancaster died April 4, 2001 at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1918, in La Harpe, Ill., to William Arthur and Martha Maude Coleman Boyd. He attended North Island College in San Diego, Calif,. and was an aircraft mechanic for the federal civil service and for Fletcher Aviation in Rosemead, Calif. He was a member of the Panama, Calif., Chapter 92 of the Disabled American Veterans for 17 years. He was a navy veteran of World War II, serving as a signalman 1st class. He lived in California for 42 years and was owner and operator or B&B Camper Sales in City of Industry, Calif. He was a member of AFL-C10 Painters Local in Los Angeles. Calif., for 10 years. He moved to Florida in 1989 and in 1992, he moved to Pea Ridge. He was a member of Puente Baptist Temple in La Puente, Calif., and the Metro West Church of the Nazarene in Orlando, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Ruth Ritter Boyd of the home, to whom he was married March 14, 1950; five sons, Terry L. Boyd of Quartz Hill, Calif., Byron Andrew Boyd Jr. of Anderson.,Mo., Patrick D. Boyd of Tucson, Ariz., Dennis A. Boyd of Rosamond, Calif., and Raymond H. Boyd of Bentonville; one daughter, Susan R. Olsen of Washington state; one brother, Harold Ivan Boyd of Oregon; two sisters, Helen I. Frueh of Hemet, Calif. and Joanne M. Shirley of Panama City, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with Donald Ledbetter officiating.

Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard, American Legion Post 100.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Norma Ruth Boyd

ANDERSON, Mo. — Norma Ruth Boyd, 83, of Anderson died Dec. 22, 2007, at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. She was born Dec. 14, 1924, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Joseph Louis and Susie Viola Tripp Ritter. She was raised by Howard Frederick and Ruth Ellen Tripp Jester.

She was an office manager, bookkeeper and switchboard operator for an insurance company in California, where she lived for 42 years before moving to Pea Ridge in 1992. She moved to Anderson in 2005. She was a sports fan and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Big Bear City, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryon A. "Barney" Boyd; one son, Patrick Boyd; one ganddaughter, Tiffany Faye Boyd.

Survivors include four sons, Terry L. Boyd of Playa Del Rey, Calif., Bryon Andrew Boyd Jr. of Anderson, Dennis A. Boyd of Cassville, Mo., and Raymond H. Boyd of Bentonville; one daughter, Susan R. Olsen of Winlock, Wash.; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with Donald Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, siscofuneralhome.net.
