Macy Gault, 98, of Conway, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at her home. She was born in Solgohachia, AR, on February 22, 1906 to the late Perry and Clara Garrett. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wilson Woodard, and second husband, Taft Gault, Sr., three brothers, Sam Garrett, Don Garrett, Conway Garrett, and seven sisters, Lucy Cross, Celia Wallace, Drucilla Garrett, Oudrey Garrett, Arkie Byrd, Sophie Garrett, and her twin sister, Mary Garrett. She was a housekeeper and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Wooster. She later became a member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Conway where was active in the choir, the Children’s Sunshine Band, Women’s Mission, and served as an usher. Survivors include four daughters, Freddie Ester of Marianna, AR, Willie Jean Thomas of Detroit, MI, Lois Conley and Evergreen Burton, both of Conway; three sons, James Daniel Woodard of Kansas City, MO, Bill Gault of Omaha, NE, and Taft Gault, Jr. of Conway; 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and a host of great great-grandchildren.
