BONNIE FRANCES (NANCE) BESSINGER, a resident of Green Forest, Arkansas was born March 22, 1923 in Green Forest, a daughter of H.B. "Boss" and Laura (Hyso) Nance. She departed this life Monday, October 22, 2001 in her home at the age of 78.

Bonnie was a Veteran of World War II having served her country with the Women's Air Corps. She professed her faith in Christ as a young lady. She was a bank clerk.

On July 7, 1971 she was united in marriage with Leon Bessinger who survives her. She is also survived by three sons, Glen Haikin of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mark Haikin of Crescent, Oklahoma and Dennis Haikin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Gail Hyche of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Ina Faye Butler and Eula Harvena Hyche both of Green Forest; two brothers, Billy Ray Nance of Green Forest and Paul Delwin Nance of Panama City, Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Reyburn Denny Nance, Lee Thurman Nance and Joe Lawrence Nance.

LEON HOWARD BESSINGER, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born May 14, 1922 in Newalla, Oklahoma, a son of Steve and Ira (Patrick) Bessinger. He departed this life Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Berryville, at the age of 89 years.

Leon worked as a mechanical contractor. He was a member of the Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Leon proudly served in the United States Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by Betty (Jones) Bessinger of Berryville, AR; four sons, Larry Thompson and wife Linda of Oklahoma City, OK, Glen Akin, Mark Akin and Dennis Akin; three daughters, Carol Bessinger, Lenore Walker and Gail; granddaughter, Lindsey Thompson; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Bessinger; one sister, Dolores Ownbey; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Leon was united in marriage with Bonnie (Nance) Bessinger who preceded in death. He was also preceded by his parents, Steve and Ira Bessinger; two sisters; and three brothers.
