BARNWELL, Sarah - Mrs. Sarah Barnwell, wife of Joshua Barnwell, died at the family home near Hiwasse February 19, 1929 at the age of 74 years. She had been a resident of this section for over 60 years, coming here with her parents from North Carolina when a little girl. She was married to J.M. Barnwell in 1876 and in 1893 moved to their present home in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. Besides her husband she is survived by five sons, Erastus, Erson, Adrel, Fleming and Everett Barnwell. Also by eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her children were all present when the end came. Mrs. Barnwell was a devoted mother, a true wife and a good neighbor. She was a true Christian and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
