Mary Baldwin Hankins, age 93, of Little Rock, Arkansas died Sunday, November 2, at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center @ Good Shepherd. Mary B. was born March 4, 1910 at Warren, Arkansas a daughter of the late John Rufus Starr Meek and Mary Lema Watson Meek. She received her education in the Warren Public School System and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Mary B. taught music in South Arkansas and North Louisiana and was church organist for First Presbyterian Church, Warren. Mary B. was a homemaker and a member of Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church. Mary B. married Edwin Hankins, Jr. on October 30, 1935 at Warren, Ark and he died November 30, 1985 after 50 years of marriage. Surviving is a son Edwin Hankins III, MD and spouse Sharon, Mayflower, Ark.; 2 daughters Ann Meek Hankins and spouse Jack Cole, New York City, NY and Kay Martin, Garland, Tex.; 1 sister Sarah Chenault and spouse Jack, Roland, Ark.; 5 grandchildren Rick Martin and spouse Ronda, Lampasas, Tex., Beth Ann Martin Mewbourn and spouse Don, Terrell, Tex., Jennifer Hankins Slump and spouse Steven, Independence, Mo., Amy Hankins Blanz and spouse Jeb, Fayetteville, Ark. and Edwin Hankins IV and spouse Christin, Fayetteville, Ark.; 5 great grandchildren Mackenzie Martin, Makayla Martin and Makenna Martin, Lampasas, Tex., Joseph Slump and Hannah Slump, Independence, Mo. She was also preceded in death by a brother J. R. S. Meek, Jr. and a sister Martha Meek. Funeral services were 10:00 am Saturday, November 8, at Frazer’s Chapel by Rev. Catherine Marie Bogue. Janice Sullivan was the organist. Burial in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jack Cole, John Chenault, Rick Martin, Edwin Hankins IV, Steve Slump and Jeb Blanz Memorials preferred Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church 4401 Woodlawn, Little, Rock, Ark 72205, First Presbyterian Church Warren, Ark or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
