Gracie Ollie Simmons of Calico Rock, daughter of the late David and Lula McVey Graham was born October 12, 1899 in Oxford. She died August 29, 1993 at Calico Rock Medical Center at the age of 93.

Mrs. Simmons was united in marriage to Eston Simmons on July 8, 1917 in Newburg and to this union five children were born. She spent her life as a homemaker and she was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by: three daughters, Essie Simmons of Calico Rock; Audean Baker of Kansas City, Missouri and Marie Matlock of Batesville; one son Revel Simmons of Brockwell; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one daughter-in-law, two son-in-laws, one great-grandson and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services were Wednesday, September 1, 1993 at Howard Chapel in Melbourne with Price Lovelace and Leon Graves officiating.

Pallbearers were Roy Teal, Tim Hellums, Cecil Stuart, David Stuart, Charles Hammett and Harold Hammett.

Interment was at pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Oxford under the directions of Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
