SEARCY — Charles P. Robertson, 58, died Jan. 22, 2012, at home in Searcy, Ark. He was born on March 17, 1953, to the late James J. and Fern Marie (Mattingly) Robertson.

Charlie was the loving husband of 18 years to Brenda (Bradbury) Robertson.

His nickname was "coffee man." He loved working on his 160-acre farm, where he also developed and ran the Deer Run RV Park off Pickens Chapel in Searcy. Brenda and he loved to travel and did a lot of it.

He helped organize and establish the Hiwasse Fire Department where he volunteered for 13 years, as a training officer and fireman.

He also worked for the Benton County Highway Department for many years.

He is survived by his wife of Searcy; mother of Hiwasse; son, Adam of Bentonville; stepson, Beau Ahrens of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, William Robertson of Hiwasse; sisters, Shirley Swafford of Centerton, Teresa Francis of Gravette and Mary Lou Stephens of Hiwasse; two grandchildren, William Robertson and Ashley Robertson.

Charlie is preceded in death by his father; brother, Leonard; and sister, Margaret Truesdell.

His funeral will be Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Hiwasse Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

A visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.
