James Wiley Stuart son of Harvey Stuart and Minerva (Turner) Stuart. Sarah Elizabeth (Gaither) Stuart daughter of Richard Gaither and Anna May (Rosebrough) Gaither. Sarah Elizabeth (Gaither) Stuart born in Oxford, Izard County, Arkansas and died in Salem, Fulton County, Arkansas.

James W. Stuart Funeral Held at Pleasant Ridge

James Wiley Stuart, son of the late Harvey and Minerva Turner Stuart, was born in Izard County Arkansas on March 23, 1881. He departed this life at a Calico Rock hospital on April 5, 1962 at the age of 81 years and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Nora Seats and to this union one daughter was born. His companion preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Sarah Gaither at Wild Cherry, Arkansas on October 25, 1906 and to this union seven children were born. One child preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his companion of the home at Salem; six daughters, Mrs. Agnes Yancey of Oxford, Mrs. Tressie Clemens of Ripley, Okla., Mrs. Lillie Berry of Black Rock, Mrs. Elsie Hunt of North Highlands, Calif., Mrs. Pearl Haynes of Rio Linda, Calif., and Mrs. Luverla Oyler of Minneapolis, Kan.; one son, Tollie Stuart of Shreveport, La.; one brother, O. W. Stuart of Oxford,; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Wiseman of Calico Rock, 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and many friends.

He was converted at the age of 51 years and became a member of the Baptist Church.

Elder H. L. Porterfield, a Baptist minister, conducted the funeral services and burial was made in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Brockwell. Pallbearers were Earnest Langston, Vince Ward, Alvin Smith, Boyd Hickinbotham.

Services Held For Sarah E. Stuart

Sarah Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of the late Richard and Anna Mays Rosebrough Gaither was born near Oxford on March 17, 1892. Departed this life at her home at Salem on April 14, 1966 at the age of 74 years and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to James Wiley Stuart at Wild Cherry, Arkansas on October 25, 1906 and to this union seven children were born.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 5, 1962. One child, her parents, three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one son Tollie Stuart of Shreveport, La.; five daughters, Mrs. Tressie Clemons of Ripley, Oklahoma, Mrs. Lillie Berry and Mrs. Lue Verla Oyler both of Wichita, Kans., Mrs. Elsie Hunt of North Highland, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Hames of Rio Linda, Calif., one step-daughter, Mrs. Agnes Yancey of Oxford; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Cooper of Salem, twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and many, many friends.

Mrs. Stuart had been a member of the Baptist Church since she was a young girl.

She had made her home at Salem for five years.

Funeral services were held in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Monday, April 18, 1966 with Eld. Linard Yancey and Eld H. L. Porterville officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
