Note from Gene McVay:
Joseph Riley McVey and his father, Joseph P. McVey/McVay both enlisted in Company A of the 6th Tennessee Cavalry shortly after the Battle of Shiloh. The 6th Tennessee was Union. Joseph Riley McVey's father was a POW at Andersonville Prison almost the entire 14 months the facility was open.
