Jasper T. Stites, son of the late William Emmett and Mary Clara Schwamb Stites, was born on July 22, 1909 in Gray Summit, MO. He departed this life on Feb. 11, 1998 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne.
Jasper married Ermal Byram on June 16, 1934 in Melbourne. He was a World War II Veteran and obtained the rank of Tech Fifth Grade. He was a member of the Melbourne First Baptist Church.
He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one infant daughter.
Funeral services were held Fri., Feb. 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the Melbourne First Baptist Church with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial was in the Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Shannon Womack, Rocky Campbell, Jack Blankenship, Gerald Blevins, Anthel Marlin and Donald Black. Honorary pallbearers were Herndon Frizzell, Fred Blankenship, Hale Bibb, Charles Wood and Glen Wiles.
