MRS. LAURA VILLINES, DIES

Green Forest, Ark., May 17.— Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Belle Villines, 70 years old, wife of the late Joseph Villines, widely known and prominent citizen of Carroll county, were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. W. E. Cooper, pastor of the church.

Mrs. Villines died Monday after an illness of several months. Burial was in the Pickens cemetery.

Laura Belle McCracken was born at Kingston, Ark., April 3, 1860, and grew to womanhood in that community. On April 17, 1875, she was married to Joseph Villines. From Kingston they moved to Boxley, Arkansas, where they lived until coming to Green Forest, about twenty-two years ago. Mr. Villines died, October 23, 1913.

Mrs. Villines had been a member of the Methodist church for a number of years and before her health became poor she took an active part in church work. Surviving her are nine children: Mrs. Alice Blackwood of Amarillo, Texas; Claude Villines of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Walter Villines of Wanette, Oklahoma; Sid Villines of Guildford College, North Carolina; Harve, Roy, Sneed Villines; Mrs. Harry Megown and Mrs. Carroll Stafford of Green Forest; two brothers, P. H. McCracken of Kingston, and J. D. McCracken of Green Forest, and two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Fancher of Green Forest and Mrs. Alice Edgmont of California.
