John Wm. McDonald Dies at Age of 82

John William McDonald, one of the county’s oldest citizens, died at his home in the Pleasant Grove vicinity, Wednesday, June 27, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 18 days. The funeral was held Saturday, services being conducted by Rev. W. T. Watson, pastor of the Methodist Church of Calico Rock.

Mr. McDonald was born in Izard county and practically all his life was spent in the vicinity of Pleasant Grove and Wideman, He was a member of the Methodist Church, having united with it 37 years ago.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Montgomery of Brockwell, Ark., and Mrs. Electie Watson of Olathe, Kansas; three sons, Homer of Etowah, Ark., Henry and Hubert of Brockwell; 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

John McDonald

John McDonald aged 82, died at his home at Brockwell Wednesday afternoon of last week. He had lived in Izard County most of his life. Funeral services were conducted Monday by Rev. W. T. Watson of Calico Rock and burial was at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in charge of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Surviving are five children; Henry McDonald and Mrs. Hattie Montgomery, both of Brockwell; Mrs. Electie Watson of Olathe, Kansas; Homer McDonald of Etowah and Hubert McDonald of Washington.
