Memorial services for Della Ruth Howard McCord, 93, Lawrence, will be at a later date in Melbourne, Ark.
Mrs. McCord died Saturday, March 24, 2007.
She was born March 17, 1914, in Sayre, Okla., the daughter of Mark and Lillie A. Smith Howard. She was a longtime resident of Sayre, Okla.
Mrs. McCord was a farmer and rancher in Texas and Arkansas. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Melbourne, Ark. She enjoyed oil painting and shared many paintings with family and friends. She was active in community affairs and was president of the Springlake, Texas, Parent Teacher Association. She enjoyed traveling with family and visited Havana, Cuba, with friends in the early 1950s.
She married W. A. "Jack" McCord on Nov. 18, 1932, in Sayre, Okla. He died Oct. 20, 1999.
Survivors include three daughters, Kay Martin and husband John, Lawrence, Mary Jennings and husband Daniel Ross, Travers City, Mich., and Patsy Walker and husband Joseph, Quanah, Texas; four grandchildren, John, Laura, Echo and Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Skyler.
