CASE, Margaret LEWIS - Grandma Case, as she was kindly known to a host of people here, passed away Friday morning, March 7, 1919 in her 90th year, having been quite feeble the past few months. Margaret Lewis was born in North Carolina June 30, 1829; married Wm. L. Case Nov. 6, 1851; moved to Arkansas in the early 70's and Mr. Case died Aug. 14, 1878. To the union were born 12 children: J.P. of California; Ruth and Elizabeth {dec'd}; James of Westville, Okla.; Marcus L. of Gravette; Louisa {dec'd); Wm. L. of Oregon; Harriet Johnson of Anderson, Mo.; Eller Johnson, Topeka, Kan.; Samuel {dec'd}; Laura Quigley of Vinita, Okla.; Mary Austin of Decatur, Ark. Mrs. Case united with the Methodist church in early life; she was a splendid type of sturdy pioneers of this community, was surrounded by many friends who, like the relatives, will miss her very much. Rev. J.F. Carter conducted the funeral Saturday and the body was laid to rest beside that of her husband on the old homestead east of town. Peace to the soul of Grandma Case, many years our neighbor; and condolence to the family.
