Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dell Townsend aged 84, who died at the home of a son at Bandmill, Wednesday, February 3, were held at Pleasant Grove Thursday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. C. Wesley Grisham and Rev. Joe Matlock. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with the Hall Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Townsend spent the greater part of her life in this section. She was born at Mayfield, Ky., and came to Arkansas as a child. She was married to Edmund Townsend, who preceded her in death by several months.
Surviving are three sons, Homer of Forty-Four, Herschel of Wideman and Roe Townsend; and two daughters, Mrs. Ethel King of Wideman and Mrs. Ruby Dockins of Oxford; several grand-children and great-grandchildren.
