Jeff Staggs, a member of the Frisco section gang, committed suicide this morning by blowing the top of his head off with a shotgun. Staggs lived on the east side, just east of the Livesay place. He got up at the usual hour, built a fire and then took a shotgun and deliberately blew his head off. Mrs. Staggs was still in bed in an adjoining room. Staggs was about 40 years old and had been here for some years, having fired at the ice plant and had worked for the K.C. & M. Mrs. Staggs was the widow of Dave Adams and Dr. R.D. Stringer.

STAGGS, Jeff N. - J.N. Staggs, a resident of Rogers, committed suicide early Thursday morning by shooting himself in the head with a shot gun. The deed was committed during a fit of despondency over a real estate deal he had just completed. Staggs, who owned a residence in Rogers, traded it this week for a farm near Avoca. After the deal was made and he had his household goods packed to move he changed his mind. Excessive worry over the matter caused him to take his own life. He was married but had no children. Mr. Staggs was about 40 years of age.
