Dr. R. F. Stringer died last Friday morning at ten o'clock at his residence on north Fourth street. About a week previous to his death he had a severs stroke of paralysis and never rallied, his death having been expected hourly for several days. Dr. Stringer's death was the solving of a difficult problem. His mind commenced to fail nearly as year ago, the result of physical ailments, and since then, when not confined to his bed by illness, it has been necessary to have some one with him during his strolls around town. Of course he had to give up all practice of dentistry and an order was obtained from the Chancery Court only a week or two ago for the sale of property to procure funds for his support. Slowly toiling up the street, his broken down condition could arouse only thoughts of pity from his many friends and they are glad the curtain has fallen. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the residence, under the charge of the G.A.R.Post. They were conducted by Rev. Wheeler, assisted by Reverend Porter. The house was too small and the services were held in the yard.

Dr. Stringer was born August 11, 1849 at Kings Prairie, Barry county, Missouri. He entered the Federal Army in 1864 when he was only fifteen years old and was a member of the Fifteenth Missouri Cavalry. In 1870 he wa married to Miss Fannie Hastings and to them were born four children, two of whom are now living, Neal Stringer of Quincy, Illinois and Lee Stringer of St. Louis. The family came to Benton county in 1881, first settling at Bentonville and removing to Rogers in 1885, where he has since made his home. He was one of the pioneer dentists of this section and one of the best known and at all times enjoyed a good practice. On December 25, 1898 Dr. Stringer was married to Miss Susan Barnes. He united with the M.E. church here last winter.
