Died January 14, 1998, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Daughter of William Henry & Dora Harmon Hays.
Married Claude William Jones, September 1, 1934, Violet Hill, Izard County, Arkansas.

Kate M. Jones, daughter of the late William Henry and Dora Harmon Hays and widow of the late Claude William Jones, was born April 2, 1903 in Newburg. She died January 14, 1998 in Little Rock. She was 94.
Kate was united in marriage to Claude Jones in Violet Hill in 1934. After moving to California she was employed by Brock’s Department Store where she worked as a sales clerk and waitress in the store tea room. After her retirement from Brock’s, she moved to Little Rock. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bakersfield. California.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Blankenship of Nashville, Tennessee; one niece, Elwanda Smith of Little Rock; two nephews, Jack Hays of Salem, Missouri and Billy Hays of Moses Lake, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services were held January 17, 1998 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Bandmill with Beverly Watkins officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles Townsend, Dale Townsend, D. King, Burl Moorehead, Roy Page and Newt Blankenship.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
