DUNCAN, Creedy - Creedy Duncan, the sixteen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Duncan, died at one o'clock Saturday morning at their home in the southeast part of town. Death was the result of typhoid Malaria fever and was very sudden, Creedy having been sick only a few days. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at ten o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Jordan of the Baptist church. The funeral was attended by Creedy's classmates from the preparatory department of Rogers Academy, who also sent several floral offerings. Young Duncan was a great favorite with his teachers and classmates and was accounted one of the brightest boys in the school. A year ago he won first honors in the preparatory declamatory contest and has appeared before a number of Rogers audiences and always received with favor. The family came to Rogers some four or five years ago and Mrs. Duncan and children lived in the cottage just east of Thos. Hanway in the southeast part of town. Mr. Duncan's work keeps him in Kansas City and he did not succeed in getting here until Saturday morning a few hours after Creedy's death, which was a severe shock to the family and friends. A strange feature of the case was that the boy had a dream just before his illness in which he said he saw himself dead. After he was in the grasp of the fever he kept asserting that he knew he was going to die and that the efforts of the doctors could not save him.
