Loyd Dye
Loyd 0. Dye, 69, of Rogers died Thursday in Rogers. He was born Nov. 24, 1910 in Brightwater.
He was a veteran of World War II and served 20 months in Europe, engaging in the battles of Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was awarded four bronze stars and the good conduct medal. He lived on Sugar Creek until 1943 and had lived in Rogers since 1945. He operated Vera and Loyd's cafe in 1946 and worked in a body shop for 15 years. He was also a carpenter for 15 years.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and of Northwest Arkansas Cavalcade for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vera H. Slinkard Dye of the home; three sisters, Jauneeta Camp and Neva Laughlin, both of Rogers and Sarahetta Greene of Pea Ridge, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
