LONE, Wilford H. - Wilford H. Lone died at 2:30 Tuesday morning at his home on North Fourth street after an illness of several months. He was among the first stricken with typhoid fever and was thought to be getting well but complications ensued that caused his death. It was only within the last day or two that it was generally known he was failing and his death came as a great shock to many of our people. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church yesterday morning at 10:00 o'clock and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.H. Kirkpatrick. The local I.O.O.F. lodge and the Rebekah order attended in a body and took charge of the services at the cemetery Mr. Lone was a native of Indiana and was born April 30, 1875. He lived in Missouri the greater part of his life, coming to Rogers some ten years ago from Ash Grove, that state, to become bookkeeper for the Rogers Plumbing Supply Co. for his brother, E.C. Lone. Some years ago he built a home on North Fourth street and his father and mother, J.A. Lone and wife, came here to make their home with him. He is survived by both of them. Mr. Lone was one of the best known and most popular young men of the city and had taken an especially active part in the work of the I.O.O.F. orders. He was quiet, clean, pleasant tempered and a friend of everyone with whom his work brought him in contact. It is hard to realize that we shall never meet him again on the street or in the office as we have been doing for so many years and he will leave a vacancy that will be slow in filling - and that for some will never be filled.
