Tinie Ward, age 83, of Lunenburg, passed away October 20, 1962 at Melbourne Hospital. She was born August 4, 1879 at Guion and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs Ward was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a sister, Rebecca Giles of Hayfork, California and two brothers, H. W. Banks of Mountain View, Oklahoma, and A. J. Banks of Guion, a daughter, Dessie Coleman of Wenatchee, Washington, and three sons, Clyde Banning, Wenatchee, Washington, Hoy Banning of San Marcos, California, and M. L. Banning of Melbourne, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lunenburg Church with the Rev. Owen Harvell conducting. Interment was made in the Lunenburg Cemetery under the direction of McCallum Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Doyle Stubbs, Shelley Neal, Estes Teague, Willie Jeffery, Ernest Wood and Wm. Berent(sp)
(Note: The obit provides the birth date of 1879 and the stone 1878. According to the 1900 census the date 1879 is correct.)
